Week 1
Write a letter to a friend while you pretend to be travelling to New Zealand in the early days.
Dear Mum,
Even though it has only been a few days since I left our island, I am missing you a lot as your are the best mum on the whole Island. We have caught a lot of fish. I have also seen 6 dolphins-don't know what type but there's one that keeps following us. I think it's a boy so I called it Reed. We were in a horrible storm which caused so much terrible damage to one of the Wakas that it sunk! Luckily we were only about 1 mile from Aotearoa so we were fine. We reach the island with everyone we had started with. It was late the night we arrived and we needed to build a shelter. As the storm was very bad, trees and ferns were everywhere on the beach. We built the shelter within ten minutes and went straight to bed. Tomorrow we will build a better shelter, gather some food and explore the wet and wild island.

Watch three videos of Hakas and rank them 1-3. 1=the best. 3=least favorite. Also tell the reader why you ranked them this way.
1. Te Iti Kahurangi. I liked this one the most because it was very powerful at the start and the presentation was great.
2. Te Puku O Te Ika. This one was also quite powerful and there was a lot of emotion put into it.
3. Tamatea Arikinui. This is my least favorite because I mainly just liked the other two better than this one.

Day 3
Week 1
Write how you would feel if you were in a family in the 1800s with 8 other siblings.
If I had 8 other siblings in my family, I would be living a nightmare! I mean come on, you, your 8 other siblings, your mum and your dad all in one house. That's just a bit terrifying. And just think how bad that would be for the parents! 9 children to feed and take care of, plus themselves! There would have to be a lot of family rules to make them get along!
Even if you did have a lot of people in your family, you can always count on them to be there for you. So I guess it wouldn't be to bad living in the 1800s. It has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Draw what you would like to be in the future
I drew (or tried to) two pictures because there is two things I would like to be the future. One was a Geologist because I love going on Geology trips with my family. My family and I are quite interested in fossils and geology. The second thing I wanted to do was help at the SPCA because I love animals.
Here are my pictures:
