Movie World

If you have read my I went Australia post then you will know what this one is going to be about. But if you haven't read it then this post is going to be about my time at Movie World.

Movie World is one of theme parks on the Gold Coast, Australia. It was definitely one of my favorite places when we went to Australia.

Movie World is packed with Roller Coasters, Shops and all of our favorite characters like The Flash, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Road Runner, The Coyote from Road Runner, Daffy and Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes.....and so on.

I went on nearly all the Roller Coasters at the park. There are so many-lets see if I can remember them........

  • DC Rivals Hyper Coaster
  • Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster
  • Superman Escape
  • The Green Lantern
  • Road Runner Roller Coaster
  • Arkham Asylum Ride (or AAR as we like to call it)
  • Batwing Spaceshot
  • Wet N Wild Falls Adventure Ride
  • Doomsday Destroyer
  • Road Runner 4D Adventure
I don't think that's all of them though. My favorite Rides were the DC Rivals Hyper Coaster, The Superman Escape, The Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster and the Road Runner.

I hope I can go back there again!

Some Day..........

Garden City Tappers Dance Comp

Garden City Tappers Dance Competition

2 weeks ago I went to Christchurch to preform duos and solos in the Garden City Tappers Dance Competition. I preformed 4 duos and 2 solos in that competition. 2 of the duos went awesome but the other two not so much. 1 solo went great but the other not as much.

For Duos I dance with my friend Jemma. We do all of the duos together and each duo is a different style. Our first duo we learnt was our Ballet Duo to the Waltz of the flowers. We won with this last year at the Greymouth competition but came 2nd/last at this competition. Our second Duo is a Jazz Duo where we have mirrors and crowns. In this dance we chuck the crowns off stage which is why we warn the people to watch out for flying crowns.

Our 3rd duo is a Contemporary. Contemporary is all about facial expressions and slow, controlled moves with sudden sharp bits. At this comp we did this for the first time and we placed first! Our last duo is the lyrical, which unfortunately was a little bit of a fail. I started the wrong way, we didn't do the Aerial and the timing wasn't the best either. Even if it was a fail we still got 1st - because we were the only ones in the group!

I also  have 3 solos but I only preformed 2 at this comp. I have a lyrical and a Ballet. My Ballet is to Claire De Lune. It was the first time I did it at a comp so I got a Commended. This is what usually happens when I do a solo first time onstage. But I know what to work on know so that's cool. My Lyrical is to People Help the People. The first time I did this one I got Commended but at this comp I placed 3rd out of about 7. So I was really pleased with that one!

Here is all the results from this comp:

Lyrical Duo-1st/last-whatever way you look at it.
Contemporary Duo-1st.
Ballet Duo-2nd.
Jazz Duo-Very Highly Commended (VHC).
Ballet Solo-Commended (C).
Lyrical Solo-3rd.

I had a great time at the comp which is the main thing and can't wait until the next!

I Went To Australia!!!

Gooday' Mate! I've just been back from Australia!

It all started when we were at the airport in Christchurch after the dance comps. Mum and dad made me and Noah think that we were going to catch a plane back to Hokitika, but who flies into Hokitika at half past 3 in the morning when it's just like a 30 minute flight?

When we went to the check in a guy at the counter asked if our final destination was Brisbane. We said Yes. But guess what? I didn't know where Brisbane was until mum and dad said we were actually going to Australia which is where Brisbane is.

I couldn't believe  it. I didn't believe it.

But then mum and dad said that we were going to the gold coast to. And that we were staying for 10 days and we were going lot's of theme parks. And Guess what?

THEY HAD PLANNED IT SINCE CHRISTMAS LAST YEAR!

When we got to Brisbane we went to the Queensland Museum which had the natural history of the Queensland area. Things in there were extinct and existing species, Bugs, Snake skin, Gems and minerals and ancient artifacts. They were also setting up a mummy exhibition but it opened when we left.

Next we went to Movie World on the Gold coast. It was so cool that I am doing a separate post on it so have a look around my blog if you haven't seen it already.

After Movie World was Wet N Wild which is next to Movie World. At Wet N Wild there were heaps of cool hyrdroslides. The ones we went on was the Black Hole, a long black slide, The constrictor which you have to 2-3 people in a raft down a red and yellow slide. There was a racing slide, a river rapids and a wave pool. There was also the Kamikaze-which was one of my favorites because it just when down vertically and a up slope in a little raft. Another favorite was the tornado, which is pretty much the same as the Kamikaze but a lot colder.....

Next in line was Seaworld, an action packed park full of Jet ski stunts, Penguins, Stingrays, Sharks, Polar Bears, Dolphins, Pelicans and lots and lots of fish. The did have 3 rollercoasters we went on two of them because the third was closed. One coaster made you wet and the other started at 0 and went up to 70 kms in speed in like 2 seconds.

Jumping, running, flying and climbing after Seaworld was none other then Australia zoo! That day I met some of the creatures I had wanted to meet all my life like, Chameleons, Koalas and Kangaroos. The tricksy Chameleon was hard to find but I got there. The Koala was so soft and lazy but here's a tip with Koalas. NEVER stand underneath them because somebody nearly got peed on. Oh and that lazy Kangaroo, either eating, sleeping or having a rub on the tummy. That Kangaroo reminded me of my cat. LAZY.

Last but not least was Thunder egg hunting. We drove up to Tambourine Mountain, a no longer active Volcano. We were given a Bucket and a Picaxe. We were looking for round rocks that we could crack open later on to find Agates. We thought we found one but it turns out we had found like 9. They were all different patterns, one was rainbow, one was shaped like an eye and one was shaped like two owls.

Here is some photos of my down under adventure!
