WeVideo Cybersmart Reflection T2

On Thursday Madeline came in and taught us how to make WeVideos. First we made a slide on our ANZAC Diamante poem with one line/word per slide and then we screenschotted them and put them onto a new WeVideo and added sad and happy music that suited the poem. Here is my WeVideo:

Numeracy Reflection W4 T2

This week for Numeracy I have been doing Maths Buddy and some questions in my Maths Book that my teacher set for me. The questions were on Addition and Subtraction. I didn't find this to hard because they were the basics, but it was good to refresh my brain on how to do them.

This week for Literacy I have been doing my Word Work, Harakeke Summary and Harakeke facts. For my Word Work I did my Definitions, Origins and Sentences, I found out that the origin of yacht is Early Dutch. For my Harakeke things I had to do a summary and some research about it, I also had to do why I think we should use Harakeke.

Main Star 4 Reflection T2 2017

For this Main Star I had to do a Random Act of kindness card and I had to leave it at the scene of the kindness. I chose to do it to Melissa, my Ballet teacher. Here is some photos of the card I made:

For this Main Star I had to write, create, draw, build, etc something that interests me. I chose to write about MJ Dance Academy because I had just started there and I am really enjoying it. In the google drawing I did the 5 W's to help me explain it more.

This week for Literacy I have been doing Writing, Word Work and a book advertisement poster.

Writing~This week's writing was about the story harakeke, I had to list the Main Ideas of the story and record it. I didn't find it hard because I had read the story about 5 times!

Word Work: For my Word Work this week I have been doing the usual definitions, origins and sentences. For my fun activity I did silly sentences.  W3 Word Work starts on slide 9.


Also we have been doing book advertisements. First we did a graphic organizer to help us start off with our poster. In the poster we had to include two adjectives to describe the book, the setting, main characters, Author, Title, rating, rate, a catchy question, a statement and images. Here is my Poster:

Summary: If you like creeping around at night~at midnight to be exact, you should read the funny Midnight gang by one of my favorite authors, David Walliams. I liked this book because it is quite alot like me at night~except not at midnight. I also liked this because there was lot's of characters and mystery and adventure.

Kate's Special Secret 40 BC Reflection

Summary: I liked this book because it was about Ballet and I like doing Ballet. The characters of this book is Ellie, Kate, Belle, Naomi, Lim Soo May, Christopher Blackwell, Grace, Heather, Anna Masters and William Forrest. This book reminded me of dancing and ballet. I would recommend this book for 8-11 years. I would rate this book 5/5 stars.

Literacy Reflection W1 T2

This week for Literacy I have been working on a document about Plastic fantastic. For this task I had to write down my knowledge of plastic, EXAMPLE: Plastic makes polar fleeces and stores water and other precious liquids. When I read a journal called Plastic Fantastic, I found out alot. Here is some of my knowledge of plastic:

What I know Plastic:

• Plastic can be made into Polar Jerseys.
• Takes 450 years to decompose.
• Plastic is very bad for the environment.
• Plastic usually contains toys/liquids.
• Plastic burns easily.
• Plastic can be recycled.

Should/Should we not use plastic?

No: We shouldn’t use Plastic because it Threatens and kills our environment.

Yes: We should also keep plastic because it stores and makes some of our precious things, Polar Fleeces and stores liquids like water and Juices.

Welcome Back To T2 Reflection

Kia Ora and Welcome back to school for Term 2!  In the holidays my old teacher, Miss Panther had a baby two days after the end of Term 2; she named her baby Masy Alice Creagh. Since Miss Panther is away, our new teacher is called Miss Reissmann. Also in the holidays I had 1 week of competitions, one in Westport and the other in Motueka/Nelson.  My highest score was 2nd place for a group dance. Coming up next week is Book Week. Book Week is 1 week where everyone does book related things. There are different things that we do throughout the week. On Tuesday night we go to the Library in your PJ's for the PJ Party. On Wednesday it is Wacky Wednesday where you come to school in your uniform but with wacky things and on Friday you come as your favorite book character; I am going as Klaus Baudelaire out of a series of unfortunate events.
