Thelma Eakin Visits Totara 1 & 2 2019
Today after we cam back from Technology and had eaten our morning tea, Totara 1 came into our class (Totara 2) so we could listen to Thelma Eakin. Thelma Eakin is the author of the book that we have been reading called "The Mine's Afire!". She wrote alongside with Susan Battye and gathered her resources form old court documents and information from a man who's dad was part of the Brunner Mine Explosion, his name is Bill Mosely. We learned lots about how Thelma Battye and Susan Battye made the book and it was a really interesting session. Here are some photos:

ReplyDeleteWasn't it wonderful to have Thelma come in and speak to us? I found her fascinating to listen too and it was really interesting to hear that Tommy was based on Bill Mosely! What was the most interesting thing that you learnt?
