TEACHERS SHOULD BE PAID MORE Exposition Writing

This week in Literacy I have been doing some more exposition writing. This is my third piece of writing and the topic that I have chosen to write about is called "Teachers should be paid more". Here is my piece of writing~

Teachers should be paid more

How long have you been at school? How much have you learnt? How much has your teachers supported you through your school life? Would you actually be able to count to 10 or say the alphabet if your teacher hadn’t taught you? Our teachers have worked hard to make sure we know how to do things when we have finished school, which is why they deserve to be paid more.

Teachers are one of the very important people in our lives, as they teach us new things every day. Our parents, friends and family do too, but teachers are one of the main sources of our learning and knowledge. Teachers show us how to do tricky math problems and will always help us if we need it, whenever and whatever we may need it for. They not only teach us the subjects like Reading, Writing, Maths, Arts, Social Studies, Topic, History and many more, but they teach us how to be kind and caring to one another and show us valuable lessons when we get into fights.

Teachers take time out of their own personal lives to make sure that we have something to do tomorrow or in the school week. You may not realise it but, teachers don’t just go home after the school bell rings, signalling that school has ended. The stay in class, and mark work that students have done and plan out the following day. They organise lots of things for us to during school time to make our days different and exciting, along with a lot of learning.

How much would you expect for your teacher to get paid? In New Zealand, the average salary a teacher gets throughout the year is about $54, 240. A principal/ headmaster’s average salary throughout the year is around $100, 000. This may seem like a heap of money, but during the year, like all adults and people in this world, it ends up being spent on food and paying taxes, rather than going on holiday to Florida.

In conclusion, for the sake of our teachers and our learning, teachers should be paid more so they can continue making our intelligence constantly growing and our lives become more interesting every day.
