SLJ Week 2 A13

Jessa Rogers was born on  the 7th of April 1985 and she received NAIDOC Youth of the Year award on the 9th of July 2010. Here's how I worked out how old Dr Rogers was when she received the award.

1. 2010-1985-the years:

 2010
-1985
 0025

=25 years.

2. July is the 7th month of the year and April is the 4th month of the year. So 7-4=3.

=3 months

3. The days-9th and 7th, 9-7=2.

=2 days.

Final answer:

=25 years, 3 months and 2 days old.

  1. Hello Kyra,

Nice work, you figured it out! Did you find this maths challenge difficult?

I like how you clearly explained your working out at each stage. Can you imagine what the world will be like when you are 25? What do you think you will be doing? When I was 25 years old, I decided I wanted to become a teacher, and so I went back to University to study Education.

Thanks for sharing this blog post Kyra, well done!
